Emergency Production Support for Structural Adhesive Supply

Challenge

A manufacturer operating automated assembly lines relied on a specialty structural adhesive used to bond metal components during production. The adhesive was supplied in cartridges compatible with pneumatic dispensing equipment.

When the adhesive supplier experienced an unexpected production interruption, the manufacturer faced a potential shutdown of multiple production lines. The company needed a rapid packaging solution to maintain production continuity.

The adhesive required controlled mixing and air-free cartridge filling to maintain viscosity and cure performance. Improper handling could alter the cure profile or create entrapped air during dispensing.

Solution

Altaris Industrial evaluated the formulation and developed a production plan using high-torque planetary mixing and controlled cartridge filling systems. Pilot batches were prepared to verify the following:

• viscosity stability
• adhesive cure characteristics
• compatibility with customer dispensing equipment

Once validated, production batches were mixed and filled into industrial dispensing cartridges using air-free filling equipment.
